Barn Hayloft Collapses-We Need Your Help

The Triform student Art Helps Fund Farm is now open. The auction will run from August 10, 2012 to August 20, 2012, with proceeds going to Triform Camphill Community to support the Triform farm. Triform's farm is a self-sustaining, organic, biodynamic farm that supports the needs of the Triform Community. This fundraiser was launched  due to the recent collapse of the Triform hay loft, which crushed the milking parlor and shut down production. There is an immediate need to replace the barn.

Triform’s diverse farm offers students with developmental disabilities a wide range of activities working on the land, helping them to develop skills, have enriching experiences, and open them up to the healing potential of community life. The farm also offers opportunities to long-term and short-term volunteers who gain skills through their involvement with the program. Triform farm produces home-grown/biodynamic/organic produce for people in the Triform community and locally. The farm and our work on rural land is often one of the most important reasons that families choose Triform. One element that makes the Triform Farm different from a modern organic farm is that the buildings, systems, machines, equipment and physical layout need to be workable and accessible to both people with and without disabilities.

About the Artists

Robbie Haynes:

Robbie Haynes, who was born with Down Syndrome, was encouraged to explore his art with his Aunt, Elaine Freeman, who has organized two other sales of Robbie’s art. For students like Robbie, art is both part of a therapeutic process and a path to self expression that is immediate and unencumbered.

When Robbie isn’t painting, Robbie spends his time working on the Triform farm, helping to care for the animals.

Pierre Wilson:

Pierre Wilson has been living in Triform Camphill Community for over ten years, also works on the farm. Pierre enjoys hands on work at the farm, pushing the wheelbarrow and helping to bring the cows in.  In addition to Pierre’s farm work, he enjoys painting with watercolors and crayon.
