About the piece: A construction depicting a bull at the top of a cliff looking down toward a bear. The work is set in a modern frame with a mat and glazing.

About the artist: Volker Kuhn (1948- ), German. Studied sculpture at the Bremen Academy of Arts and won the Young Advancement Award. Well known for his series of ?Art in Boxes?- framed in-the-round three-dimensional wall pieces of small ?findings? and miniature figures and animals, in surprising juxtapositions (usually there is a joke involved, often with a reference to famous works by other artists). His sculptures are informed by ?object art? with references to Dada, Surrealist and Pop Art movements. Kuhn?s work is exhibited all over the world.
