Since 1963, the Social Development Commission (SDC) has served as a planner, coordinator, and implementer of human service programs for low-income individuals and families in Milwaukee County. The SDC operates 26 programs designed to improve the overall quality of life for low-income people. Through its programs, the SDC provides services to approximately 100,000 people annually.
The SDC targets its services to low-income individuals and families who reside in southeastern Wisconsin. The target population includes children in single-parent households, low-income older adults, at-risk youth involved in delinquency and gang-related activities, low-income homeowners and homeless families.
