ABOUT NEEDIEST KIDS
There are more than 600,000 school children in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Nearly 1/3 of those students' families are facing serious financial challenges. This means thousands of students go to school without the basics - new clothes or school uniforms, school supplies, eyeglasses, medical or dental care and more. And, some don't go at all for lack of these essentials.
Neediest Kids works with school systems in the Greater Washington Area to ensure students have access to basic necessities to stay in school and thrive.
Schools depend on Neediest Kids to provide funds to purchase what is needed most -new clothes and school uniforms, school supplies, eye exams and glasses, medical or dental care, school fees, transportation and more - for their students to attend class and to be ready to learn.
Neediest Kids works with these area school systems - D.C. Public and Public Charter Schools; Montgomery County, MD Public Schools; Prince George's County, MD Public Schools; Alexandria, VA Public Schools; Arlington County, VA Public Schools; Fairfax County, VA Public Schools; Loudoun County, VA Public Schools; and Archidiocese of Washington.
Working together, we can help all students get onto the bridge to success!
