The Dropkick Murphys Tickets & Backstage Passes auction is now open. The auction will run from February 24, 2011 to March 10, 2011, with proceeds going to the Claddagh Fund.

The Claddagh Fund is based on three core values within our community: friendship, love and loyalty; the three attributes symbolized in the Claddagh ring. The Fund provides assistance to organizations that share in these goals, prioritizing the needs of children and targeting organizations that support a myriad of children’s causes. The Claddagh Fund also supports other non-profit entities which share in our vision for improving the lives of suffering individuals, enabling them with the support and tools necessary to enhance their quality of life. In addition to the groups that champion the needs of children, the Claddagh Fund focuses on aiding veterans’ causes, families of deceased soldiers, and alcohol and drug recovery programs.

Thanks to our generous corporate partner, EchoStor Technologies.

More information about the Claddagh Fund

A registered 501(c)3 organization, the Claddagh Fund was founded in 2009 by Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys. He and members of the band, their wives and families have generously supported charities throughout the history of the band. As a result of their collective desire to give back to worthy non-profits that support their communities and the neediest of individuals, the Claddagh Fund was created to organize and funnel the contributions of all of the friends and families interested in participating. In an effort to harness the passion of the friends, families and fans of the Dropkick Murphy’s and to channel it to effect positive change in the community, a substantial portion of the efforts of the Claddagh Fund are focused on three cornerstone issues: Children - Veterans and Their Families - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation

A substantial portion of the efforts of the Claddagh Fund are focused on three cornerstone issues:

Children

The Claddagh Fund will focus on supporting child and youth-based non-profits, targeting organizations that support cancer research, support and recovery, youth sports, clubs and camps. Organizations which provide opportunity to vulnerable and disenfranchised youth populations, providing the background, education and outlets necessary for children to develop into successful, considerate adults, will be strongly considered. Benefitting charities include:

  • My Brother’s Keeper
  • The Franciscan Hospital for Children
  • Boston Center for Youth & Families
  • SCORE Boston Program
  • Dorchester Boys and Girls Club

Veterans and Their Families

The commitment and sacrifice of soldiers and their families to our country is embodied in the values of friendship, love and loyalty—the core of the Claddagh Fund. Without their unbelievable sacrifice and loyalty, our country would be a very different place. It is an honor to, even in a minor way, pay tribute to these men and women and their families who humbly commit their lives to protect and serve others. Benefitting charities include:

  • The Fisher House

Alcohol and Drug Recovery

As an important and personal issue to the Founder and members of the Board of Directors for the Claddagh Fund, financial support will be offered to aid successful programs in Boston, in Massachusetts and throughout the country which provide resources, care and instruction to those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. The Claddagh Fund will support programs that offer a comprehensive approach to alcohol and drug addiction, including education, training, housing and consistent social services and support beyond traditional short-term recovery methods. Benefitting charities include:

  • The Gavin House
  • The Cushing House
