The 8th Annual Hope & Opportunity Charity Auction was a great success. Thank you all for taking the time to support Action for Boston Community Development, Inc.  Congratulations to everyone who:

• invited family, friends and community to make their bid to build a better world

All proceeds from this event will benefit homeless families.

Our live event took place on May 13, 2010 in the Foundation Room at the House of Blues. The funds we raised at the live event will allow us to assist very desperate children, families and individuals to avoid homelessness. Thanks to all those who came and supported our event and made it such a huge success!!

Right now, tens of thousands of Boston-area families struggle to keep a roof over their heads. Shelters are filled to capacity and "overflow" families end up in isolated motels, far from schools, families and familiar neighborhoods.

With your help, ABCD's Housing and Homelessness Prevention staff members can keep at-risk families in their homes and move those struggling with homelessness into affordable housing. They can stabilize families and provide parents with the resources - education, child care, financial literacy, job search and more - to move toward self-sufficiency.
