The Greater Essex County Chapter (“GECC”) of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. cordially asks for your support of our Harvest Ball Mardi Gras Celebration 2014, on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Westminster Hotel in Livingston, New Jersey.

Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a national African-American family organization devoted to providing cultural, civic, social, educational, and recreational opportunities for children. Since the inception of our chapter in 1999, we are proud to have raised more than $200,000 in proceeds that have been directed to organizations supporting children throughout Essex County, New Jersey.

This year we are proud to support a phenomenal organization, The Boys & Girls Club of Newark NJ (BGCN). BGCN, located in Newark’s Central Ward, is now in its 43rd year of providing services to thousands (and in some cases, generations) of Newark families.  The BGCN facility provides after-school and enrichment programs to hundreds of the city’s youth each day throughout the school year, and continues to service the city’s youth through summer camp programs.  The center (and its two satellite school-based sites) seek to provide growth, learning and enrichment through a vast number of programs and organized groups.

GECC supports the BGCN mission:  “To provide opportunities for youth that empower them to success and excel as contributing members of society…by providing a safe environment, under the direction of caring and trained adults, where programs develop life skills, values, character and leadership, thereby helping young people realize their individual potential.”
