The House of Ruth Maryland is the State’s largest provider of services to victims of intimate partner violence (IPV) and their children. The agency provides a comprehensive continuum of services, including 24-hour hotline (410.889-RUTH), short-term and transitional shelter, legal counsel and representation, group and individual therapeutic counseling, and service coordination. The House of Ruth Maryland also seeks to increase victim safety, understanding of IPV, and support for victims through community education and outreach programs, professional trainings, and abuse intervention programming. It is the agency’s mission to lead the fight to end violence against women and their children by confronting the attitudes, behaviors and systems that perpetuate it, and by providing victims with the services necessary to rebuild their lives safely and free of fear.
