Online Auction to Benefit Local Families and LAYC.
The Latin American Youth Center's "Crafting a Happy Thanksgiving" online auction is now open. The auction, featuring one-of-a-kind hand-crafted tables and chairs, runs from September 15, 2012, to November 19, 2012.
For each table sold, a local family needing some extra "love and care" will be given a Thanksgiving basket containing a turkey and other foods need to make a traditional holiday feast. Remaining proceeds from the auction will support LAYC's programs and activities to serve low-income youth and families in DC and Maryland's Prince George and Montgomery Counties.
