Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education
The mission of Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education is to create opportunities for a diverse cross-section of young people, especially those from low-income families and communities, to make positive choices in their lives, remain in and succeed in school, reject violence and other risky behaviors, and grow into active, responsible and productive citizens. We work to achieve these goals through innovative tennis instruction, education, life skills, and leadership development programming in neighborhoods throughout the Philadelphia area and at the Center. www.ashetennis.org
On Friday, April 23, 2010, Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education hosted our 27th Annual Benefit, “Champions for Children – It’s All About the Kids.” This year, the event honored Irene and Fred Shabel for their many years of leadership and service in support of our organization and the over 6,500 young people it engages throughout Philadelphia and Camden.
Please join us in supporting the great work of Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education and saluting Irene and Fred by participating in our Benefit.
