6 Artists, 2 Presses:
Monotype Seminar with Master Printer Patrick Masterson

Main Article Image A one-day, hands-on monotype workshop, taught by master printer Patrick Masterson, will take place Saturday, March 10, 2007, at the Houston Foundry.

Monotype printmaking techniques are often described as painterly approaches to making prints.

Masterson (MFA, Rhode Island School of Design, and BFA, Southwest Texas State University) will conduct the workshop on 2 presses reserved for the exclusive use of workshop participants.

Class size is limited to 6 to ensure that each participant has substantial work time on a press. (If there is sufficient interest, a second workshop will be offered in May.)

Both experienced and beginning printmakers are welcome.

Masterson has printed for many renowned artists, including Luiz Jimenez, James Surls, William Wegman, Bettie Ward, Dan Rizzie, Julie Speed, John Alexander, Linda Ridgeway, and Melissa Miller.
