Here's a New Way to Support OPAL Community Land Trust!

Help us continue to build and sustain permanently affordable housing on Orcas by participating in our 2010 auction.  This year all of our auction items will be available for bidding online for 2 weeks before our live event on October 16 -- a gala event with the theme of "Soiree Under the Sea," complete  with 'underwater' decorations.

From our full offering of more than 120 items, only 20-25 will be carried forward for live bidding at our October 16 dinner auction.  THE REMAINING 100 ITEMS WILL ONLY BE AUCTIONED RIGHT HERE ON LINE. Items to be carried forward are clearly marked in their item descriptions.

So take a look and see what items intrigue you and be ready to bid when the online auction opens September 26.  We're offering a good complement of things you need or want to buy anyway, so this is a great way to fill a need and support OPAL too. E.g. propane for your tank, a lube job for your car, haircuts, or a teeth cleaning. 

How about exercise classes, or massages? Acupuncture or chiropractic treatments?

How about professional services you may need, such as an architect, an interior designer, an estate planner, or a garden designer?

How about food or booze?  Look for restaurant gift certificates and great wine collections and wine tastings.

You'll also find great ideas for things to do when your grandchildren or other family or friends are visiting, such as a geological exploration of Sucia island, or two hours on the seashore with a real marine biology expert, and more.

We have terrific travel choices for both nearby destinations-- weekends in Seattle or Victoria or Whistler -- and more distant spots-- the Caribbean, New Hampshire during leaf season, Edinburgh, Vienna, and a fabulous trip to London. 

Art and Jewelry? Of course!  We have many fine pieces by local artisans including pottery, paintings, and more.
