PLAYWRIGHTS HORIZONS: WHO WE ARE

Playwrights Horizons is an award-winning not-for-profit off Broadway theater dedicated to the support and development of contemporary American playwrights, composers and lyricists, and to the production of their new work. 

Proceeds from this auction will supoort the theater's annual season of six plays & musicals, year-round play & musical theater development programs, audience development activities, a resident internship program, the Playwrights Horizons Theater School at NYU, and Ticket Central, a low-cost box office service available to the entire performing arts community.

This year’s gala, entitled HEROINES celebrates  the women writers of Playwrights Horizons. In the past decade, we have been a national leader in supporting the work of women writers and in recent seasons, 50-65% of the plays produced annually have been written by women.
