USO-NC 70th Anniversary Celebration in Wilmington

Marriage Vows Reaffirmation: Commemorating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the USO and the vital role family support plays in the lives of our service men and women, a marriage vow renewal ceremony and celebration will be held aboard the USS North Carolina 11am to 1pm, Saturday, March 31. The ceremony is open to all couples who were married while on active duty, in the reserves or on National Guard status. There is no fee to participate, but pre-registration is required at USO-NC.org. All others who wish to attend may purchase a $10 ticket from the site. Call 910-616-3487 or write ilmcelebrates@uso-nc.org. - AND - Gala Reception and Dance: Reminisce with friends and family as the sounds of swing fill the historic Hannah Block USO Building and Community Arts Center, 120 South Second Street in Wilmington, 7p.m. to 10p.m., Saturday, March 31. Commemorating the vital role the USO, and particularly this historic building which was among the first built, played during WWII, the celebration will feature big band music, fine food catered by Bon Appetit, a champagne toast, cash bar, silent auction, quilt raffle and art show and sale.
