Item Description
Here is a sweet little addition to Kim O’Brien’s dot collection…. A little speck of color for your neck.
The dot is made of a half inch cupped disc of fine silver. It was filled with a red transparent enamel and torch fired. This little dot hangs from a sterling silver rectangular chain which closes with a handmade hook clasp. The necklace is designed to hang at the collarbone and is 16" long.
Item Special Note
Kim received her BFA in Jewelry and Metals from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and came to realize that she loved making jewelry from sterling and fine silver and adding color to my pieces with enamel. She is enamored with the problem solving of making adornments as well as the ability to be able to manipulate metal into the form that she wants it to become by hammering and bending it. Her jewelry is influenced heavily on nature and the Art Nouveau movement and she loves to play with textures on metal and seeing how different techniques pick up reflections of color and light.
