Item Description

Are you a true VOLS fan?!  Do you remember what Neyland Stadium looked like before the jumbotron was installed... if so, you probably also remember the letters that spelled out VOLS  that were displayed on the Southeast end zone!  These were removed in 1998 to make room for the jumbotron... and, now, they can be YOURS!

About the VOLS Letters:

In 1976, when the southeast upperdeck was completed in Neyland Stadium, creating a horseshoe shape, the VOLS sign was installed... an orange background with white letters that soon became an icon for Tennesee fans. The letters remained there and were unchanged until 1998 when the jumbotron was first installed for the 1999 season.

The letters are 10 ft. by 12 ft. and include a small metal frame that keeps the plastic from warping.  No electrical wiring or any other accessory is included.

Installed on the stadium, the letters were visible from both sides (so, there were two sets... a front and a back).  This set includes the one side of all four letters (V-O-L-S).  The other side is being auctioned off as individual letters.

This auction item includes one side of the V-O-L-S sign that was historically installed on the southeast end zone of Neyland Stadium.
