Join the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute's veterinary staff during an animal procedure (either a clouded leopard, red panda, maned wolf, or cheetah; to be determined). Learn all about what goes into keeping our animal collections healthy, as well as assisting with the groundbreaking research in reproduction and conservation of our amazing species. The National Zoo’s Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI; formerly Conservation and Research Center; CRC) is a 3,200-acre site in the Shenandoah Valley, where scientists and staff are engaged in multi-disciplinary research to recover endangered species, save habitat, and restore species to the wild. Tour for up to 4 people and will be arranged for mutually convenient dates and times.
