Item Description
Tour for four people to visit the multi-species crane breeding facility and new Kiwi breeding facility at the National Zoo's Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI); formerly Conservation & Research Center (CRC) in Front Royal, VA. Learn about assisted reproduction in these marvelous, yet very different bird species. Tour led by National Zoo avian specialists Warren Lynch and Chris Crowe. SCBI; is s 3,200 acre site in the Shenandoah Valley, where scientists and staff are encouraged in multi-disciplinary research to recover endangered species, save habitat, and restore species to the wild. Tours will be arranged for mutually convenient dates and times.
