Broadway & Beyond
Elena Roger is Evita, and Ricky Martin is Che ---- lord knows they deserve standing ovations as they belt out the ballads night after night, but where would they be without the hard-working musicians who gather eight times a week to put the music in musical theater? We’ve all seen the magic onstage, but have you ever wondered what goes on underneath? The orchestra pit manages to hold the largest amount of Broadway talent in the smallest square footage available. Experience the Andrew Lloyd Webber score as a member of the orchestra by sitting next to Broadway guitarist extraordinaire Michael Aarons. Michael’s Broadway credits include American Idiot, Godspell and Memphis. He is a credited arranger on the Broadway show Next to Normal, which won the 2009 Tony Awards for best score and best orchestrations. Michael has also played and toured with Liza Minnelli, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and numerous others. Get to know Michael and other unsung Broadway heroes as you sit in with the orchestra at Evita! After the show, you'll also have the chance to meet conductor Kristen Blodgette. You’ll never look or listen to a show the same way again.
