Join Maj. Dave Sandige, USAF Ret. in his personal vintage-era Wag Aero Cub for a 30-minute scenic flight around your home, work, or favorite Humboldt beach.  Imagine the luck you could have to observe a whale migration from above!

Learn how to preflight the airplane before climbing in the two-seater behind the pilot.  Receive the basic instruction needed to grab the stick and fly the plane yourself under his guidance. 

Dave is an FAA-certified instructor pilot at Murray Field and has been flying for over 30 years.  He takes children on their first-ever flights every year with the Young Eagles organization .  He is Vice President of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and has been a guest speaker at several Vintage Aviation meetings.

He is currently a Contract Pilot for a well-known California Winery, flying the Falcon 900 and Falcon 50 Corporate jets.  If interested, Pilot Dave will answer any of your questions about his 21-year Air Force Career flying A-10s and U-2 reconnaissance planes. 

You'll be in capable hands during this once-in-a-lifetime flight.  Bid for a child interested in flying, for someone who has never before flown in a small airplane, or for yourself!

Special Instructions

Airplane is hangared at the Arcata/Eureka airport in McKinleyville, CA.  Winner will receive a card with the pilot's contact information and a mutually agreed upon date and time will be scheduled.  Because this is a small airplane, flying date is subject to current weather conditions and cannot be reserved far in advance. 

Don't forget your camera!

Note: Though the "Valued Price" covers the gas and maintenance cost to fly the plane, few people outside family get to fly in this plane, so the experience is truly "priceless."
