Open 24 hours a day, The Fifth Avenue Diner is located at 432 Fifth Avenue (between 8 and 9th Streets) in Park Slope, Brooklyn. This neighborhood favorite diner "hits all the basics" and then some!

This Brooklyn diner’s two adjoining rooms put forth two contrary temperaments. The main space exudes the warm comfort of your typical coffee shop via booths, brick walls, chrome-plated swivel stools at the counter, and nostalgic black-and-white prints of old New York; the larger, second room—accessed through a side doorway—has a definite chill underscored by concrete floors. (Worry not, thirsty reader: At least there’s a bar.) Regardless of the schism, the single menu’s a predictably extensive smorgasbord that hits all the basics (i.e. pancakes, burgers, and roast-beef sandwiches). Low prices add just the right seasoning.
