Tesserae:  Smalti, vitreous tile, glass, mirror, Van Gogh glass, beads, buttons, charms, millefiori

"I have always loved colour, patterns and texture and creating things out of bits and pieces. My Aunt was a seamstress and sent me scraps of her fabrics to use when I was a young girl. I loved getting a bag of scraps and seeing what I could make out of them. Over the years I have tried painting, wood burning, scrapbooking, quilting, sewing and now mosaics. I have been making mosaics for the last 6 years.  I am self taught and love reading everything or anything on the subject. I am addicted to Flickr.com and looking through the amazing works I see online. It has encouraged me to try new things and challenged me to think outside the square. I enjoy making something for others and seeing the look of enjoyment when they receive it."
