5 Day Residencies
During his Museum of Glass Residency, Italian artist Davide Salvadore will introduce a brand new series of glass sculptures, each piece representing the zoomorphic essence of one of the legendary Muranese maestri with whom he worked and who he admired throughout his formative years. At the Museum, Davide and his team will create limited edition bozzetti (maquettes) of the final life-sized works, which will be featured in a future major exhibition.
For Davide, working with glass is a way of life—a reverence for glass and its traditions are inherent in everything he does. His tireless quest for perfection and constant drive to push the boundaries of his material have led him, through the years, to new ways of thinking about glass and its capabilities. With each new body of work, Davide dazzles his audience, forcing us to reconsider our ideas about what is possible using glass as a sculptural medium.
Note: Davide’s Residency will have taken place before the residency auction but the winner will select a piece from this unique work and be recognized as a sponsor of a resulting Davide exhibition and invited to all exhibition events.
