Item Special Note

The Eliot School offers classes in crafts and fine arts to people of all ages – both at our schoolhouse in the heart of Boston and through our school partnership program, which sends teachers to classrooms throughout the city.

Founded in 1676 as a grammar school for colonial, African, and Native children, we turned our focus to the manual arts in 1889. Since then, we have taught craftsmanship and the pleasures of creativity. We are known for our excellent faculty, welcoming atmosphere, small class size, and the charm of our historic site.

Located in Jamaica Plain, we are easily accessible by car and by T, with plenty of public parking nearby.
