The evaluation will assess one's posture, strength, balance, biomechanics, flexibility, and areas of dysfunction. Based on the results of the examination, further recommendations will be made to improve problem areas. This evaluation is provided by Heather Carr, PT, DPT, OCS, MTC Doctor of Physical Therapy Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certified Manual Therapist Through her 8 years of practice, Heather has developed two areas of specialty: orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation. She believes expertise in each area reinforces the other and cross application strengthens her ability to provide high quality care. In 2008, she became board certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). In 2007, she earned her Certification in Manual Therapy (MTC) from the University of St. Augustine. Her "hands-on" skills are eclectic including, but not limited to, trigger point release, myofascial release, massage, joint mobilization, muscle energy technique, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). Heather combines these manual treatments with specific exercise training depending on the needs of the individual. She also frequently incorporates postural re-education into her treatment plan as quite often she finds that a significant cause of pain and injury is posture related. Other types of intervention she provides include custom orthotic assessment and fabrication, ergonomic assessment and advice, and education on injury prevention.
