Hand-woven woolen rugs have traditionally been used in both nomadic and settled Tibetan households -- whether in tents, houses or outdoors -- as well as in temples and monasteries. They have served as floor coverings, wall hangings, curtains, furniture coverings and even saddle blankets. This rug was made in Nepal by Tibetan refugee communities.
