The winning bidder receives the first stage and the final stage of the Efficiency Maine energy rebate process. The initial home energy audit determines what type of efficiency gains a home can reach with specified improvements. The initial audit determines what level of rebate a person can receive. A 25% efficiency increase can give a rebate of $1,500, while a 50%+ increase can result in a $3,000 rebate from the state. The final audit phase, included in the price, is the sign off of the work. Complete analyze the home and sign off that the work was done correctly. Without the audit, people cannot get a rebate. Included in the audit is a complete infrared thermal imaging of the home, a boiler/furnace efficiency test, an air quality analysis, and a thorough written plan for improving the home,
