Item Description

Another addition to your coin collection: The 1922 Peace silver dollar reflected the anti war attitude of the American people following World War I. This one has no mint mark and is valued at $40 by Continental Coin Ltd. of Cranston, RI.

More about this coin:
The word "PEACE" appears on the reverse beneath an eagle standing on a rock, and is the only US coin to ever have the word "PEACE" on it. The reverse also has the words "United States of America," "one dollar" and "E Pluribus Unum," which is the motto of the United States and means "out of many, one." The obverse features a profile portrait of Lady Liberty. It was modeled on the wife of the artist, Anthony de Francisci. The 1922 date is below the portrait. The obverse has the words "Liberty" and "In God We Trvst." There is a "v" instead of a "u" in the word "trust." A Peace silver dollar is 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper. It weighs 26.73 grams and is 38.1 millimeters in diameter. The edge is reeded.
