Item Description
This marvelously-detailed entomological study traces the life-cycle of "Caterpillars and Butterflies" and that's the name of the piece. It's a mid-19th-Century, hand-colored lithograph by Anst. V. E. Hochdanze of Stuttgart, Germany. A donation from the collection of Stephan and Julia Brigidi of the Bristol Workshops in Photography, Bristol, RI, the print itself measures 19 15/16" x 8 ¾". In mint condition, it is matted in museum board. Overall dimensions, in its gold-painted, wood frame, are 16" x 20".
