Item Description
Late-19th- and early-20th-Century American watercolorist Louis Aagssis Fuertes was noted for painting nature and at least one of his originals is in the Smithsonian collection. In this chromo lithograph of a Fuertes painting from the early 1900s, we see two varieties of woodpecker, the pileated and the downy. This 8" x 5" piece is in mint condition and matted in museum board. Overall dimensions are 16" x 14" in its gold wood frame. Stephan and Julia Brigidi, of the Bristol Workshops in Photography, Bristol, RI, donated this piece to Rhode Island PBS.
