Item Description
Here we have two modern prints on archival paper created from original, black-and-white photos of past America's Cup contenders. Defender, built here in the Ocean State by the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company of Bristol in 1895, is depicted solo. She was Nathanael Greene Herreshoff's second victorious America's Cup design. Defender also appears in the second print, probably alongside another Herreshoff craft. Both pictures are in mint condition and mounted in museum board, with overall dimensions of 16" x 20" in their silver wood frames. They were donated to Rhode Island PBS by Stephan and Julia Brigidi of the Bristol Workshops in Photography, Bristol, RI.
