Item Description

This is truly one of a kind!  Created by Lizette Louis, an alumna of NJCU, this orginal wood burning on birch of NJCU's iconic Hepburn Hall is truly a masterpiece.  The piece measures 14” x 11” and is a must have for any alumni.

Lizette Louis is a New Jersey-born illustrator working in the greater New York area. Her works are mostly wood burning illustrations that are portraits of various people of diverse cultures. These representational works are influenced through her volunteer experiences and the works of artists such as Albrecht Durer and Whitfield Lovell.

"Into everyone's life, a little Liz Louis should fall.   As a student, Liz was involved in every activity on campus, usually in a leadership role.  Despite the demands on her time, she neglected nothing. Approaching every class with enthusiasm, Liz developed her own approach to drawing using a the difficult and unforgiving medium of wood burning, managing photographic subtleties with what  is, essentially, a hot nail. Liz’s work will speak for itself."—Dennis Dittrich, Associate Professor of Art
