Item Description
This 18x24" print by artist Harriet Finck memorializes the biblical Ruth’s famous words to her mother-in-law Naomi:
"And Ruth said, do not press me to leave you, to return from you. For where you go I will go, and where you rest I will rest. Your people are my people, and your G-d is my G-d. Where you die I will die, and there will be buried. Thus may G-d do and thus continue because only death will part us."
From Finck's bio on her website: "From the very beginning of my work as a collagist I have been drawn to two related ideas: putting the pieces of broken things together, and finding form within chaos....My recent work digs deep into the bones of my childhood. I am exploring the meaning behind a variety of Hebrew texts, learned long ago, with a particular, though sometimes hidden, emphasis on the letters themselves...."
