Exhibits this summer include “Those Who Serve”, a look at Vineyarders serving in World War II, and “From Concept to Canvas – The Work of Stanley Murphy”. Murphy is considered the foremost island painter of his time. The package includes a set of note cards based on the exhibit, as well as a full-color book of Murphy’s portraits of islanders, “Where Magic Wears a Red Hat – The Art of Stanley Murphy”. From the museum, take a stroll through the streets of Edgartown, guided to points of interest by the museum’s publication “Walking Tour of Edgartown”, also included in this package. Finish your tour with admission to the Edgartown Lighthouse, restored by the museum and the Town of Edgartown. The view from the top is amazing.
