The wine was aged for 18 months in seasoned French oak. Dark ruby-colored, it offers up a superb aromatic array of balsam wood, earth notes, wild blueberry, and black cherry. Forward, easygoing and seamless on the palate, this silky-textured wine can be enjoyed over the next eight years. Black cherry and raspberry fruits are given added complexity via subtle aniseed and vanillin tones derived from maturation and small French and American oak barriques.The palate has weight and depth due to layers of fruit tannins and sheer flavour intensity. Enjoy now or within next 7 - 10 years. - Red Knot Shiraz, South Australia 2007 Tasting Notes: Dark cherry red with youthful purple hues. Lusciousripe strawberry & blackberry aromas are highlighted with scents of orange blossom, spice & savory oak. The mid-palate overflows with ripe berries & has a long, fresh, fruit finish, accentuated with mocha flavored American & French oak. - Petite Rousse 2004 (California, Paso Roble) Tasting Notes: "Another uber-value juicy, jammy Syrah from Tim and Mimi Spear! Identical to the 2001 and 2002 "petite Rousse" the 2004 "petite rousse" comes from 100% free run juice which (1) allowed Tim & Mimi to avoid fining and (2) greatly tamed the amount of rustic tannin evident in Paso Robles Syrah." -Winer - Dolium Malbec Petit Reserva Syrah 2005 (Argentina, Mendoza) Tasting Notes: Color is dark ruby/light purple. Red berry fruit and smoke on the nose carry through to the palate nicely.
