Item Description
Hand-crafted in rich earth tones this lidded urn would make a fabulous conversation piece on any coffee or end table. 12” high, 20” diameter.
In 1968 Fred Wilson established The Muddy Wheel pottery studio in Southern California. In seven years it became a major exhibition hall for exciting new pottery-sculpture of the area. During this period Mr. Wilson tutored over five thousand people in the art of pottery making and became responsible for the motivation of 600+ major artists now working throughout the United States.
He has exhibited throughout the United States, form the New York Museum to the Los Angeles County Museum. In 1965, his ceramic and paper mache sculptures were awarded the Silver Bunyol de Plata form the President of Valencia, Spain. His patrons include the Univeristy of New Mexico and former Governor and Mrs. Bruce King.
Fred describes his own work as “organic to cubic, to Oriental (a touch of African); dealing always with people and their relationships in life…”

New Mexico residents can pick up auction winnings from 12 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at KUNM-FM in Albuquerque, NM, and at a location to be determined in Santa Fe on Sunday, June, 13, 2010 from 1 to 4 pm.
Shipping and handling charges will be added to all other shipped items according to the following table:
