Item Description
A Gorgeous Rod! This is a custom fly rod built by Herb Ladenheim on a one-off blank by CTS in New Zealand. Light in the hand, it fishes like an 8-weight. The blank is a blend of graphite with an average modulus of 57 million per square inch producing a very fast action. It has a non-painted finish to produce as light a blank as possible – very similar to the GLoomis GLX finishes.
The grip is accented with rings of stabilized Black Ash Burl. Exotic cork burl and trim rings of stabilized African Blackwood. Due to the stabilization process, the wood needs no maintenance and is 100% impervious to saltwater. The cork is alternating rings of ½” and 1/4 “ cork of the best quality and needs no filler. High-wear areas have rubberized cork installed. All rings used to form the grip have been reamed to size and installed one at a time on the bland to insure that there are no voids between the grip and the blank.
The reel seat is a saltwater, anodized aluminum seat from REC. All guides and tip-top are REC recoil made from a nickel-titanium alloy that will not corrode nor discolor from use in the saltwater.

Item Special Note
The only maintenance needed, besides a wash-down after use, is to wax and buff the blank every year or two, depending on use, with a good carnauba wax. If the tip section of the rod is damaged by the original buyer, Herb will act as an agent with CTD to obtain a replacement and he will reattach the guides. The owner will only need to pay for parts and shipping.
