Item Description
Enjoy the timeless combination of quality Western furniture swathed in vintage fabrics from Central Asia with this pair of Suzani-upholstered, Louis XV chairs from Stanistan Design.
Patricia Stanton, principal of Stanistan Design, melds furniture with “good bones” and exotic textiles to create one-of-a-kind (or, in this case, two-of-a-kind) pieces of both beauty and practicality. The upholstery is created from a mid-Twentieth-Century Suzani from Uzbekistan. In Central Asia, Suzani are often part of a girl’s dowry.
Here in New England, Pat Stanton has succeded in bringing East and West together! Since so doing, she has sold her unique furniture to discriminating decorators on three continents.
Patricia Stanton is a member of the South Coast Artists, with members in Westport and Dartmouth, MA, and Tiverton and Little Compton, RI.
Item Special Note
A Suzani is an embroidered textile originally designed as a wall hanging or bed covering.
