Pleated Embroidered Dot Print Ball Skirt
This exceptional ball skirt by Oscar de la Renta is truly one of a kind. The pattern, inspired by a dress in Oscar's Spring 2008 Collection, is a masterpiece of precision and luxury. Silk dupioni is embroidered with vertical stripes with rich blue semi circles, which are hand pleated and sewn. The fabric is backed with organza and the skirt is lined with silk for the full volume and weight of a custom couture ball skirt. The skirt is size 4. The opening bid is $750, automatic bid increment is $35.

The skirt was created by hand in Oscar de la Renta's atelier using fabric is from the Oscar de la Renta Home line of textiles (fabric id: Dotted Pleat in Wedgewood, 2010107-5), available to the trade only through Lee Jofa. The skirt appeared in an advertisement announcing the launch of the home textiles collection. All proceeds will go to Casa del Niño, Oscar de la Renta's charity in the Dominican Republic that provides assistance, education, and medical care to children in need.
