Item Description
Honfleur - located at the mouth of the Seine, near the French coast - was a favorite haunt of Claude Monet and fellow masters of the Impressionist movement, so it’s no surprise he depicted the community often.
Printed during Monet’s lifetime (1909), this lithograph of “Vue de Honfleur” (“View of Honfleur”) was created by Bruno Cassirer of Berlin - a well-respected gallery operator and publisher known personally by Monet.
The piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Nathan Daniel Isen of Philadelphia which states it’s part of an edition limited to 1,000 and “signed in the stone” by Monet. (This means the artist’s signature was incorporated into the stone used to create the lithographic prints.)
Item Special Note
Matted and framed, overall dimensions are 23”H x 27”W.
