Item Description

Planning on eating every meatball at Meatball madness? Then you'll need this: Four sessions at the Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp.

The Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp is a challenging one-hour class that will take you across the one-mile long Brooklyn Bridge and back. During intermittent stops every 3-5 minutes we perform only the most effective moves that bring about a lean, strong and defined body.

We utilize exercises using your own body weight, the bridge structures, benches, and a special type of resistance bands that bring about amazing results for your trouble zones. Your heart rate will be elevated at all times and you'll feel challenged like never before. The best part? You're part of a fun group that shares your goals.

  • Burn up to 800 calories per hour
  • Have a changed body in 5 sessions
  • Tone your arms and abs, slenderize your hips and thighs, and lift your butt

Founder and head instructor of Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp, Ariane Hundt, takes a compassionate approach to kicking your butt. Meaning, while you may feel the strain of running sprints from one tower on the Brooklyn Bridge to the next, performing squats along the side banisters, and doing multiple rounds of jumping jacks, Hundt, a personal trainer with a masters degree in nutrition, is cheering you on rather than acting like a military sergeant. The classes of approximately 20 people, which meet at the Manhattan-side entrance of the bridge, run the gamut from first-timers looking to shed pounds quickly to vets who have been following Hundt and her regimen for a number of years. In winter months, sessions are held indoors in studios rented out at gyms around the city like Gold’s and Boom Fitness. The indoor classes don’t include any running, but focus on building abdominal and upper body strength, using free weights and resistance bands, and doing many sets of push-ups. In addition to the weekly weekend Boot Camp classes, Hundt, with the help of two other trainers, runs a number of different programs during the week, including Slim and Strong, a four-week package of conditioning classes, nutritional counseling, and body measurements, as well as a running class held in Central Park that pushes participants to achieve their best 5K time.
