Enjoy a getaway for two with Urban Escapes as they lead you on a guided kayaking expedition followed by a gourmet lunch and a private winetasting.
There’s no better way to spend a fall day than by relaxing on the Delaware River. We’ll start the morning off with a leisurely kayak down the picturesque river. After a few hours on the water, we’ll make our way over to a beautiful, privately owned vineyard in the Pocono Mountains. Our guides will lay out a gourmet picnic lunch and you’ll have the treat of a private winetasting.
After the day’s activities, we’ll drive back to Manhattan and you’ll leave feeling so refreshed that you’ll feel like you went away on a magnificent vacation.
We love discovering new places and meeting new people. Put those together and you’ve got the ingredients for a perfect adventure. That’s what Urban Escapes is all about: outdoor excursions with a group of new faces. From whitewater rafting in the Poconos to hiking and camping in New Hampshire’s White Mountains to rock climbing in the Shawangunks, we dream up all sorts of ideas for amazing trips. Then we assemble an all-star crew and iron out all the nitty-gritty details—you just have to show up!
It all started in July of 2008. Maia was organizing trips for her friends—there’d be camping one weekend and skydiving the next. Soon friends of friends started calling and asking to come on the trips. It wasn’t long before there was a crew every single weekend. After a successful summer of sold-out trips, it was clear that this was much more than just a hobby, and hence Urban Escapes was born. Shortly thereafter, our unique brand caught fire and we struggled to meet the demand, and so the expansion efforts began. Now we’re the premier provider of social adventures for young professionals in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington DC.
