Item Description

Name: Distribution of Food

Cherry and dyed anigre

3"H x 10-1/2"diameter

Buzz Coren's wood bowls and vessels are a rich mosaic of colors and patterns. Coren designs a pattern and glues together various combinations of hardwood and veneer that involves dozens of laminations and hundreds of individual pieces. This produces a solid block that is cut into smaller sections and laminated again to create a patterned slab. Cutting this form into concentric angled circles; a series of rings emerges which are re-glued into a stack, forming a basic shape. Changes in laminating or stacking allow limitless possibilities in form, pattern and color.
