Item Description
Pinwheel Bowl
Hand blown glass
3"H x 12"W x 9"D
Robert Levin joins opaque and translucent color in his modern glass sculptures. The graceful forms give the illusion of still being hot, forming peaks and creating patterns in the fluid glass.
"I have always tried to capture an element of the elegance, fluidity and whimsy that I feel are inherent properties of glass. I describe my traditional work as eclectic and personal, sort of a blend of Late Venetian and Early Neurotic."- Robert Levin
Levin received his BFA degree from Denison University (OH) and his MFA degree from Southern Illinois University. He has exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (NY), the Hermitage (Russia) and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (CA). His work is included in the collections of the Corning Museum of Glass (NY), the Mint Museum of Craft + Design (NC), the New Orleans Museum of Art (LA) and the Museum of American Glass (NJ). Robert currently works from his studio in North Carolina.
