Laurey Masterton is the proprietor of Laurey's Café, Catering and Gourmet to Go in Asheville. Starting by collecting Blenko Glass in the early 1970s, she decided to follow her glass passion and, in 2003 took her first glassblowing class at The Corning Studio of Glass. Laurey currently practices her"hobby"at Jackson County Green Energy Park in Dillsboro, where she works using trapped methane from an abandoned landfill, which is in alignment with her desire to take care of the Earth. Laurey, a chef who calls her galssblowing business"Out of the Frying Pan Glassworks"loves working with color, classic forms, and simple designs inspired by what she sees out in the world.
