Mask Description: From the artist, "After finding the right picture to use as my inspiration, I then painted it as a mask that can be used or just displayed as art. Paula's words that guided me are below." From Paula Francis: "I asked the artist GlorieÂÂA? to design my mask as a cat, because my husband and I have two adorable cats which truly enrich our lives and entertain us. They also give us unconditional love. Beyond our own cats, cats in general are a mysterious species, very appropriate for the project. They seem to wear a mask at all times, obscuring their true feelings from us, leaving us to imagine what theyÂÂA?re thinking. Just as, when we see a person in a mask, we read all sorts of things into their eyes, because thatÂÂA?s all we have to go on! I love the mask she created. It seems like a mystical representation of what I love about my cats." Media: Paper mache, acrylic paint, gel medium, fur, wire and Swarovski rhinestones. Hours invested in this creation: 16 About the artist: Glorie Neals has been a freelance designer/artist for 32 years. She taught Art for IICSN for 2 ½ years. Currently, she is preparing for a gallery showing.
