Item Description
How about a Halloween Haunting? You'll enjoy a stay in this elegant inn whether you pursue it's otherworldly guests or not! And anytime through 9/30/2011.
Inns have operated at this Lakefront site in Kewaunee since 1858, so it's not too surprising that a few characters have stayed here -- and some think stayed on. The Wisconsin Paranormal Investigation Team certified the Inn (known in 2002 at the Karsten Inn) as haunted. Three manifestations, all residents of the inn in the 1930s, are said to still inhabit the inn:
- William Karsten owned the inn and is said to move furniture around in his old suite and sit in the bar with a beer on occasion.
- Billy Karsten III, who died at age five, still runs down the hall to his grandfather's rooms.
- Agatha, an unfortunate housekeeper, continues to sweep the halls and sometimes knocks over salt shakers in the kitchen.
Guests have recorded their experiences with the spirits in a diary at the inn. They've been described as friendly, gentle, and mischievious, but never evil! Read about the interesting history of the inn here.
Item Special Note
Kewaunee is located 30 miles east of Green Bay and 30 miles south of Sturgeon Bay on the Door Peninsula. The verdant Kewaunee River valley, boater-friendly Kewaunee Harbor, and the sandy shores of Lake Michigan are among the natural features of this small charming city. The site for our Inn and restaurant has hosted public accommodations since 1858. The current Inn was built in 1913. Come visit the Lakeshore!
