Item Description
Original Intaglio print approximately 13" x 17" entitled "Escarabajo Sonoro" (sonorous beetle), portraying a castanet. The print is one of a series made by Tom Hyatt, the artist, in 2008-2009. It was inspired by a poem by Federico Garcia Lorca, a Spaniard, called “Crótalo” (Castanet). Loosely translated, the poem reads:
Castanet.
Castanet.
Castanet.
Sonorous beetle.
In the spider
of the hand
you crimp the warm air
and you drown in your wooden trill.
Castanet.
Castanet.
Castanet.
Sonorous beetle.
