Item Description
Providence-area native Arnold Desmarais is a marine and landscape artist who works in the Realist style. Trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, Arnold began his artistic career designing jewelry for recognizable names including Anne Klein, Liz Claiborne, Bill Blass and Givenchy.
Painting in the classical tradition, working and studying with Joseph McGurl, Donald Demers, Jim Wilcox and other recognized talents, Arnold has been called upon to create reproductions for world-renowned museums and you can see his work (uncredited) at the Louvre in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
A designer/developer with the House of Fabergé, Arnold - who has always lived close to the sea - enjoys creating peaceful ocean views. He also shares his talents by teaching at the Cape Cod Art Association and the Cape Cod Museum of Art.
