A detailed list of classes, schedules and fees is available on the website at www.artcentersf.org.

"Art education and instruction is an essential component of the ArtCenter/South Floridas mission to make contemporary art accessible for everyone," said Jeremy Chestler, ACSF Executive Director. "ArtStudies provides students - from novices to experienced artists looking to expand their knowledge of different media - with the opportunity to learn from professional artists."

ArtStudies' experienced and talented teachers include: Lazaro Amaral, an honors graduate of Parson's School of Design who has led projects for MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Coca Cola, Sony and The Miami Herald, spearheads the printmaking and silkscreen class. His curriculum teaches the fundamentals of the screen printing and photo emulsion process; building a home-based lab; and making postcards, posters, t-shirts and more. A former artist-in-residence at ACSF, Amaral has since continued to cast himself into a successful artistic career.

Anthony Ardavin, whose work deals with nostalgia and the world of imagination, teaches creative painting. With a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Art from Florida Atlantic University, Ardavin has worked as an Art Consultant for IBM and is the former owner of Anthony Ardavin Gallery in Atlanta. His oil painting classes include constructive discussions and completing at least one painting per class. Ardavin is currently an artist-in-residence at ACSF.

Art jewelry is taught by veteran jeweler, Ruth Avra. In her 20 years of creative jewelry design, Avra has learned traditional techniques under mentor and celebrated artist, Eleanor Moty; studied in Italy at the famed Art Studio Fuji; worked with several designers in New York; and launched her own eponymous company in South Florida. She blends metal and painting to create striking yet minimalist designs, which have been shown all over the world. Her class teaches chain-making, metal fabrication, piercing, soldering, forming, stone setting, finishing and surface patinas.

Gustavo Roman is the instructor for figure drawing. After graduating from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Humanities in Fine Arts, Romn chose to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in drawing from Florida International University. His work, which deals with the human psyche and its correlation with physical existence, has been exhibited in Chicago, Kansas City and New York. Roman's course provides the technical knowledge to draw the human figure convincingly in various poses; he teaches his students how to gain an understanding of the formal principles of figure drawing from observation.
